Through outstanding culinary, educational, and community events, the Austin Food & Wine Alliance brings together food, wine, spirit, and craft brew enthusiasts to connect and engage with top culinary professionals in a festive and celebratory atmosphere highlighting local tastes and talent. Proceeds from the AFWA’s signature annual events are a key funding source for the Culinary Grant Program, the nation’s first program to provide funding that supports culinary innovation and contributes to the local community.

In 2017, the Alliance connected more than 100 local chefs, artisan producers, winemakers, craft brewers, and spirit-makers to nearly 2,500 Central Texas residents.
Live Fire! is a celebration of the incredible flavor profiles that emerge when beef is cooked over an open flame. The 9th Annual Live Fire! is coming in hot in Spring 2019, celebrating the flavors of Mexico in the form of tantalizing beef recipes. Beef lovers will revel in a one-night-only menu of the most creative, daring and delicious dishes that our extraordinary lineup of stellar chefs can sear up. In between bites, flame-loving fans will sample the dazzling array of cocktails, craft brews and exceptional wines, guaranteed to cool down and chill out.
The Official Drink of Austin celebrates the vast community of talented mixologists the city has to offer by challenging them to create the essential Austin cocktail. Winners gets bragging rights for a year, while the attendees have the pleasure of sampling a host of original drink creations formulated by the best bartending teams in the city. A selection of Austin’s top restaurants are also on deck offering sumptuous bites to soak up the libations, plus rocking live tunes on stage to keep the party going.
The Wine & Dine Series offers the opportunity to experience a truly rare, intimate evening with a nationally acclaimed celebrity chef in a unique dinner format. Attendees have the opportunity to get up close with these celebrity chefs and hear from the chef about their culinary philosophy and inspiration while enjoying a special menu with top-tier wine and spirit pairings. Dinners are hosted by Austin’s best restaurants, whose chefs collaborate with the visiting chef to showcase local flavors throughout the menu.
Wine & Swine is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to experience Central Texas’ most celebrated and adventurous chefs presenting their culinary personality in the form of all things pork. Each chef participates in the authentic pig roast, many staying overnight to roast whole pigs, to compete for a cash prize and the title of Best Pork Dish. The ultimate Sunday funday, Wine & Swine is an afternoon event filled with remarkable wines and kickin’ live tunes in the gorgeous outdoor space at Camp Mabry, located in the heart of Central Austin.
